Cyprian Kizito Lwanga was born on 19th January 1953 at Kyabakadde-Naggalama, Mukono. He has died at the age of 68 years. He attended Kyabakadde Primary School, Nyenga Seminary and then joined Katigondo National Major Seminary in Kalungu District. He then studied Theology at Ggaba National Seminary and in 1979, he joined the University of Clermont-Ferrand in France where he studied administration and languages. Kizito Lwanga later studied at Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, where in 1994, he earned a doctorate in Canon Law. He was ordained priest in 1978 and was appointed as first Bishop of Kasana-Luweero Diocese in 1996. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga was appointed the 3rd Archbishop of Kampala in 2006 and has served in the same capacity for the last 15 years.
